This past Saturday, December 16th, Knik Tribe hosted the much-anticipated Santa's Arena and Vendor Market, a magical two-part event that brought the community together in the spirit of holiday cheer. Held at the enchanting AURORA: Healing with Horses Ranch for Santa's Arena and the bustling Michael Tucker Learning Campus (MTLC) for the Vendor Market, the festivities unfolded from 12 pm - 5 pm. Admission was free for community members of all ages, offering an array of delightful activities and local treasures for everyone!

At AURORA, the atmosphere buzzed with excitement as children and adults alike immersed themselves in the enchantment of Santa's Arena. The star of the show, Santa himself, greeted everyone as they entered. He spread joy and laughter as he met with wide-eyed children and listened to their heartfelt wishes. After meeting Santa, families warmed their hands and hearts at Mrs. Claus' Kitchen, where hot chocolate and cider flowed freely and piles of cookies waited to be decorated. Little artisans had a blast crafting paper snowflakes and coloring wooden ornaments, creating festive masterpieces for families to cherish for years to come. The event also featured a petting zoo with adorable goats and festive reindeer games, including a cake walk, lasso tag, and corn hole, ensuring smiles and laughter all around. Of course, the highlight of the Arena was the majestic and magical holiday horse rides, creating unforgettable memories for children and adults alike.

Meanwhile, over at the MTLC, the vibrant Vendor Market showcased the incredible talents of local artists, providing a unique opportunity for community members to discover one-of-a-kind treasures. The Vendor Fair featured a diverse array of local artists, each bringing their own unique flair to the event. From handmade Alaska Native jewelry and art, resin crafts, hand knitted clothing, and baked treats, there was something for everyone. As visitors perused the vendor booths, they were treated to the comforting warmth of hot chocolate and cider, creating the perfect festive atmosphere for shopping and socializing.

Santa's Arena and Vendor Market was more than just an event; it was a celebration of community, joy, and the spirit of giving. From the twinkling lights to the laughter of children, the day was a resounding success, made possible by the support and enthusiasm of our wonderful community and the efforts of the Knik Tribe staff. As we wrap up another successful year of spreading holiday cheer, we look forward to more opportunities to come together and create lasting memories in the years ahead. Until then, may your days be merry and bright!
