Talgunda Huhghighilyahda - meaning “Ready for Tomorrow” in Dena’ina Athabascan—is a program that empowers students to master computer building, hardware, and programming skills. By combining advanced technology with cultural values, students learn to create practical solutions while preserving and sharing their heritage.

 

Participants follow the Engineering Design Process, gaining the skills to design, prototype, and refine technological solutions. From cyber security to building custom PCs, Talgunda prepares students to thrive in a tech-driven world while staying connected to their roots.

  • Hands-On Computer Building: Assemble, upgrade, and customize computers using tools like Raspberry Pi 5 and custom components, gaining a deep understanding of hardware and software.

    

  • Immersive Technology Integration: Explore virtual reality with Quest 3 VR and learn to program apps for gaming or education.

 

  • Circuit Design and Coding: Use SparkFun circuit kits to create and program devices that solve real-world problems.

 

  • Engineering Design Process in Action: Apply this structured method to solve problems, improve designs, and innovate with technology.

 

  • Future Tech Preparedness: Gain expertise in computer engineering, coding, and problem-solving. Preparing for careers in tech, IT, and beyond. Work with industry-standard tools like Alienware gaming laptops to develop job-ready skills for careers in tech and STEAM fields.​​
