Spark Creativity, Build CommuNities
The Alaska STEAM Hub (ASH) is transforming how rural Alaskan schools engage with STEAM education. Through cutting-edge tools like CNC machines, 3D printers, and laser engravers, ASH empowers students and schools to become creators and problem-solvers.
Our mission? To ignite a network of Fab Labs across the state, where students innovate, explore, and create sustainable tech solutions for their communities through honoring Tribal Values.
-
Hands-On Workshops: ASH offers 3 exciting one-week workshops focused on CNC machines, 3D printers, and laser engraving. Each workshop teaches students and educators how to use these tools through engaging, project-based activities.
-
Earn Your Machine For FREE: After completing a workshop, your school receives the corresponding machine to jumpstart your own maker space. Schools can enroll multiple times to build a full set of CNC, 3D printing, and laser engraving tools at no cost!
-
Keep Creating, Together!: Schools participating in ASH workshops receive resource kits with materials and supplies to keep your students creating. Check out the ASH YouTube Playlist for fun activities and equipment maintenance tutorials. Contact the ASH Team for replacement parts or help with repairs. Whether hands-on, or online, we’re here to support throughout your maker space journey!
-
Create Fab Lab Communities: ASH provides the foundation for schools to start their own local FAB Labs, sparking creativity and collaboration in maker space communities across Alaska.
-
Learn Anytime, Anywhere: Schools can come visit the Benteh STEAM Academy in Wasilla Alaska to attend ASH workshops, or invite our ASH team to host workshops locally and we’ll come visit you! ASH also provides virtual lessons on YouTube to guide schools and students through setting up, maintaining equipment, and completing fun, engaging STEAM projects.
